Tax Information Network (TIN)

Electronic Accounting System in Excise & Service Tax (EASIEST)

On behalf of Central Board of Excise & Customs (CBEC), Ministry of Finance, Government of India to establish a state of the art facility for receiving online information on collection of indirect taxes (excise and customs) from the Banks and to provide reports and tools to enable the department to view daily collection details and help in monitoring the tax compliance. For more details visit www.cbec.nsdl.com

Central Recordkeeping Agency (CRA)

For National Pension System (NPS) on behalf of Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA), Govt. of India, The responsibilities included establishing an IT infrastructure, handling the Administration and customer service functions for all subscribers of the NPS, including Issuing of unique Permanent Retirement Account Number (PRAN) to each subscriber, maintaining a database of all PRANs issued and recording transactions relating to each subscriber's PRAN. www.npscra.nsdl.co.in

Established under the Indian Depositories act 1996 has played a key role in transformation of securities settlement infrastructure in India to the best in the world. NSDL has enabled holding and transacting of shares and debt instruments in dematerialized form which has reduced risk, improved operational efficiency, reduced costs significantly for all stakeholders. Provides common Internet Infrastructure that enables the shareholders of companies to vote electronically on resolution of companies to be passed by postal ballot. Goods & Services Tax (GST)

A pilot project for the Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance, Government of India. The Government of India identified NSDL to undertake the responsibility of incubating the National Information Utility (NIU) for GST. The initial process involves conducting an in-depth study of the current tax environment in various States across India and setting up the pilot infrastructure.

Special Economic Zone (SEZ)

Online Project for Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India. The Government of India identified that strong and well-functioning SEZs is a critical element for the growth aspirations of India. In order to ensure transparent and efficient processing of SEZ transactions, the Government of India identified the NSDL group to automate the processing of SEZ transactions. The process involves building an integrated solution to facilitate speedy processing of various transactions that SEZ developers/units have with SEZ administration. National Skills Registry (NSR)

Is an initiative taken up by National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM), a premier association of members in the IT and ITES industry, for developing a database of registered and verified workforce for its member companies. NSR seeks to develop a life-time profile for each person workingin the industry. NSR profiles will be uniquely identified based on biometric details of the person and holds information about the person including results of background check conducted by a third party entity, on the information of such person. KYC Registration agency (KRA)

System has been built with a view to bring uniformity in the Know Your Client (KYC) requirements for the securities market in India. The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) initiated usage of uniform KYC by all SEBI registered intermediaries. For more details visit https://kra.ndml.in

National Academic Depository (NAD)

Is an initiative of Ministry of Human Resources and Development, Government of India, to maintain a national-level database of all academic qualifications from secondary school certificate to university and professional certificates. National Insurance-policy repository (NIR)

Is an initiative of the Insurance Regulatory & Development Authority (IRDA), to set-up an infrastructure for facilitating issuance and holding of insurance policies in electronic format. National Payment Services Platform

Is an initiative by the Department of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India to provide payment gateway services for e-Governance Projects. The overall plan is to provide end-to-end transactional experience for a citizen using e-Governance infrastructure which includes accessing various services through Common Service Centers and online payments using internet based payment gateway interface.
